  • National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities: This site is sponsored by the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Dept. of Education. This site provides information regarding IDEA.
  • ADHD: This website is the Special Needs Opportunity Windows website that provides online resources and professional development opportunities for both teachers and parents of students with special needs.
  • WEAC: This website is an NEA affiliate and contained information on inclusion and mainstreaming, as well as IDEA and court decisions regarding placement under IDEA.
  • SchoolNet Canada: This is a web site from the Canadian government, but does provide links to dozens of websites available to those interested in the education of students with special needs.
  • Learning Disabilities: This is a parents' guide to helping kids with learning disabilities, but could also be a resource for educators.
  • LearningNeds.com: This web site provides access to assistive technology products. This would be a good resource if a teacher is looking for something to help a particular student access his/her education.
  • Learning Disabilities Resources: This is a site that provides essays and articles on the various aspects of learning disabilities.
  • Child Development Info: This web site contains information about anxiety disorders in children and adolescents including phobias, panic disorders, and post traumatic stress disorder.
  • Anxiety Disorders Association of America: This is the web site for Anxiety Disorders Association of America and specifically for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. This is a good source of information for all of the anxiety disorders.
  • Autism Soceity of America: This is the Autism Society of America's homepage and provides links to the latest information regarding autism.

  • Office on Women's Health : Women: U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. This site targets women's issues in health.
  • Office on Women's Health : Teens: This site targets teenage girls issues, as well as a section for their parents/caregivers.
  • The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration: National Mental Health Information Center. This site provides a wide array of information regarding hot topics, grants and funding, hotline and help centers, as well as health related links.
  • National Institute of Mental Health
  • NAMI: This web site for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and specifically the child and adolescent action center provides access to information regarding children's mental health issues.
  • Learning Disabilities: LDA's website for parents, teachers, and school psychologists with helpful handouts and articles on all aspects of learning disabilities.
  • MedlinePlus: A service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institute of Health, this site provides information on thousands of prescription and over-the-counter medications.

  • NASP Online: Information on school psychology as a profession, NASP membership, National School Psychology Certification System, NASP Career Resource Center, and intervention resources for practicing school psychologists.
  • National Association of School Psychologists: Information provided for parents and teachers as well as SP's.

  • American Psychological Association: This is the link to the American Psychological Association that may be a resource at one time or another for educators.
  • School Psychology: Resources for Psychologists, Parents and Educators. Research learning disabilities, ADHD, functional behavioral assessment, autism, adolescence, parenting, psychological assessment, special education, mental retardation, mental health, and more.
  • DIBELS: The Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) are a set of standardized, individually administered measures of early literacy development available here for free download.

  • Mental Health Association of Westchester: This is the web site of the Mental Health Association of Westchester, which provides a lot of information regarding anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. It also provides additional information links to the Anxiety Disorders Association of America and the National Institute for Mental Health.
  • Both of these above websites are a great source of information from the University of Kansas. It provides a number of links to help teachers better serve the students with special needs.
  • National Center to Improve Practice: This website is the National Center to Improve Practice and provides links to resources for technology to enhance educational outcomes for students with sensory, cognitive, physical, and social/emotional disabilities.
  • Advocacy Info by State: This is a national link to information regarding inclusion in each state.
  • Special Ed Info: This is a great source for links to other sources of information. The sidebar contains links to accommodation/tips, ADHD, behavior disorders. It also contained some great information in the section called In the Spotlight.
