Opening Schools A Resource for Administrators

Workshop Description: The COVID 19 pandemic has drastically impacted public education, leaving administrators, educators, and specialists with little experience to draw upon when planning for the upcoming academic year.  This document pulls together up-to-date information on a variety of aspects that will need to be addressed as plans are made for students to return to school.   These areas include considering the physical aspects of schools, promoting health in the classroom, developing stronger social-emotional skills, addressing academic performance in light of the COVID-slide, drawing on RTI and data-based decision-making skills to support special education identification and developing emergency plans.  It is our intention that participants will be able to use this document as a means of providing support to their district.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on returning to school

Participants will be able to explain concrete  ways to support learners in the classroom

Participants will identify how data based decision making may become increasingly important in identifying students with specific learning disabilities.
