Dr. Amy Cannava presents True Colors Shining Bright: Inclusive Supports for LGBTQIA+ Youth and Preventing Chaos Through Informed Compassion: LGBTQIA+ Youth Thriving Post-crisis.
This workshop will teach participants how to foster a welcoming, affirming, inclusive, proactive, equitable, and responsive school environments which minimizes the risk factors LGBTQIA+ youth face. An Affirmative Practices model will be taught addressing tiered intervention from universal supports to counseling. Participants will be empowered by learning to implement school-based mental services, serve as advocates for LGBTQIA+ youth, and be an informed consultant to school staff. Resources will be identified and participants will leave with the ability to effectively advocate for sexual minority and gender-diverse youth as well as implement an innovative counseling program within their own schools to support these students.
Participants can register for the whole day or for just the morning or afternoon workshops. Please note, the Annual Meeting will occur before lunch.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, you must either cancel your registration online or submit written notification to MASP at least 10 days in advance for a full refund. Cancellations with less than 10 days notice will receive a refund less the cost of food (typically $50) and a $25 processing fee. Please email your request to maineasp@gmail.com.
